Kyushu Bunka Gakuen Elementary and Junior High school (KBG ejhs) is a private, fully-accredited MEXT (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology) joint elementary-junior high school located in Sasebo, Nagasaki. Established in 2019, KBG ejhs features a warm and welcoming environment with modern facilities, highly skilled and motivated staff, with a strong focus on English, IT and Japanese culture (tea ceremony)education.
We aim to provide a top-tier 21st Century education that builds inquisitiveness, creativity, critical thinking, effective communication skills, compassion and cooperativeness. In an increasingly modernizing and interconnected world, it is important from a young age to develop positive attitudes and learning habits that will help students to be both eager learners and global citizens.

In order to be admitted to KBG ejhs, all applicants must participate in an Entrance Exam. As part of the exam, a parent (or parents) participate in an interview. Details about the Examination are provided at the Entrance Exam Briefing Meeting.
*Please note: for those wishing to join in Grade 1, applicants are not given a traditional exam but are observed and assessed while they participate in a series of activities.
There are two elementary Entrance Exam sessions per year (November and January) and two junior high school Entrance Exams sessions per year (December and February). Check our website or contact the school for specific dates.
We DO accept applications for students wishing to transfer to KGB ejhs in a grade other than Grade 1 and Grade 7. Check our website or contact the school for more information about Transfer Entrance Exam dates and details.
In principal, all new students join KBG ejhs at the beginning of the school year (April 1). However, we do consider applications on a case-by-case basis for individuals who have recently moved into the prefecture or who have other special circumstances. For inquiries, please contact the school office.
*Please note: Japanese is the main language of classroom instruction. An age-appropriate level of Japanese language knowledge and skills are necessary to be accepted into KBG ejhs.
